Palandro-Ferry Foundation Honors Kelly Wiseley’s Commitment To Animal Welfare With Donation To Providence Center

June 14, 2021—The Board of the Palandro-Ferry Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce that it has made the first of what will be an annual donation to the Providence Animal Center in Media, PA in the memory of Kelly Wiseley. Wiseley, who was engaged to Joseph Ferry of the South Philadelphia String Band, was killed alongside him in a tragic accident on January 2, 2019.

Kelly was dedicated to animal welfare and devoted time walking dogs, made donations to the Center and took part in fundraising events, including the “Bark in the Park” event that takes place in the fall with a festival and a 5K run/walk.

A $1,000 check was presented to the Center’s staff members Tyler Noyes, Lucy Fox and Tara Summers on Tuesday, June 8 by members of the Wiseley Family, including Kelly’s parents Bill and Sue, along with her brother Michael and his young daughter Macie, and her cousin Cameron Guyer. One of Kelly’s own dogs Rudy – who she adopted from the Center with Joe — was on hand too. Rudy was rescued from a shelter in Mississippi in 2018 through the Center’s TAILS (Transporting Animals Into Loving Situations) Program.

The Foundation’s donation will go a long way to helping more pets like Rudy through this Program. It rescues adoptable pets from overcrowded shelters near and far where they would otherwise be euthanized. This includes animals that require more intensive medical care or behavior resolution intervention, giving each animal the opportunity they deserve to find their forever home and family.  In 2020, 1,421 dogs and 1,367 cats were rescued and brought to Providence Animal Center through the TAILS Program.
